About Basketball Federation of India

The Basketball Federation of India (BFI) is the sole governing body for basketball in India, recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). Founded in 1950, BFI has been instrumental in structuring the sport across the nation.

Mission & Vision

To promote basketball at all levels, from grassroots to elite, fostering a competitive ecosystem and making India a force in international basketball.

BFI governs all basketball activities in India, including national championships, team selection, coaching certification, and league operations.
